Ways to Give
Building the Future Today
The College of Engineering and Computer Science thanks our friends, family, and alumni for their generous support.
Alumni and friends like you understand first-hand how committed the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) is to empowering its students to realize their fullest potential. Your past support and generosity have enabled us to offer transformative learning experiences that empower our graduates, providing them with the tools to excel in serving the needs of their employers and society.
Your continued support will allow us to further our accomplishments by incorporating the fast-growing technological and computational advances to prepare the next generation of engineers and computer scientists.
Methods of Giving
Gifts of Cash
Cash gifts are put to work immediately for the CECS and allow donors to take applicable credits and deductions in the current tax year.
Gifts of Securities
Appreciated securities significantly reduce the donor's capital gains tax. Tax deductions are based on the full market value of the gift in the year it is made, if the stock was held for more than one year. Gifts in excess of the allowed 30% of the donor's adjusted gross income can be carried over and deducted for up to five years.
Planned Giving
Many avenues are available for planned giving. Donors considering a planned gift should contact , Director of Development.
Gifts in Kind
Donors may give a personal possession of special interest, such as art, collectible, rare books, equipment, automobiles, or other artifacts. Because special tax rules apply, donors are encouraged to discuss their plans with tax counsel.
Matching Gifts
Many corporations demonstrate their support of education by matching, or multiplying, their employees' gifts. Before making a gift, contact your employer's personnel office for the necessary matching gift forms.

Your support to CECS is more important than ever. Our students receive an excellent education; they live here and care deeply about our region. By investing in our college, you contribute to a sustainable, prosperous future for our students and communities near and far.
Receiving the scholarship, to me, it means that, instead of spending time taking on additional jobs and taking on work to try to make ends meet for each semester, I have the space to take on the opportunities that I'm passionate about and are related to my ultimate career goals
