Veteran Services mentors students as they progress through their college endeavors. The Veterans Services team is led and staffed by military veterans who are here to support you and help you navigate any issues you may encounter. We are trained to disseminate information concerning the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) education benefit programs and to make referrals to appropriate university professionals to facilitate a smooth transition concerning your academic endeavor.

We sponsor programs, especially for veterans, such as veteran resume workshops and study groups.

VA Benefit Checklist

Veterans Services works harmoniously with the Office of the Registrar to ensure the proper administration of military and veteran education programs and enrollment certifications. Visit the Veteran Affairs Certification page for more information about various VA Education Benefits. In the "THIS SECTION" menu, information on things from initiating benefits to handling deployment can be found.

Once registered for classes, complete the VA Certification Request Form. VA benefits must be requested each semester you plan to use them.

Walk with UM-Dearborn in the Memorial Day Parade

Join the University's Student Veterans Association as we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms by participating in the City of Dearborn's Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 26, 2025. All student organizations, teams, staff, faculty, and administrators who participate are encouraged to wear maize and blue on this special day. Please bring a bucket of candy to share with the thousands of spectators along the parade route.
