Biography and Education

Brooke Harris-Thomas is an assistant professor of educational psychology at the College of Education, Health, and Human Services, 每日大赛. She received her Ph.D. from Michigan State University, her Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Indiana Wesleyan University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary and Special Education from Spring Arbor University. 

Dr. Harris-Thomas is interested in student belonging within the mathematics classroom, learning during adolescence, and ecological impacts on student motivation. Further, her research focuses on examining how educators can utilize multiple pathways to support students' sense of belonging broadly and specifically in STEM classrooms. Lastly, Dr. Harris-Thomas prioritizes the formation of research practice-partnerships as a way to help minimize the research-practice gap and centralize student and teacher voices within the study of education.
