
UM-Dearborn ranked sixth among regional public universities and 40thamong all regional universities in the Midwest. This marks the 14thconsecutive year the university was rated as one of the region鈥檚 best.
According to the magazine, overall rankings are based 鈥渙n quantitative measures that education experts have proposed as reliable indicators of academic quality.鈥 UM-Dearborn鈥檚 ranking highlighted the university鈥檚 high first-year student retention rate, low student/faculty ratio and improving graduation rate.
The publication also recognized UM-Dearborn鈥檚 undergraduate business and engineering programs.
The College of Business was ranked as the third best undergraduate business program in the state. This was the eighth consecutive year the program has appeared on the list.
The College of Engineering and Computer Science was ranked as one of the best ABET accredited undergraduate engineering programs for universities that offer doctoral degree programs. This is the first year CECS has been included in the doctoral program category. U.S. News previously ranked the program among the best offered at master鈥檚-level institutions for 18 consecutive years.
