UM-Dearborn again among top regional universities according to U.S. News & World Report

每日大赛 again was ranked seventh among master鈥檚-level public universities in the Midwest in an annual guide to American colleges published by U.S. News & World Report.

UM-Dearborn was among the top regional universities in Michigan and ranked 36th among all regional universities in the Midwest. This marks the 13th consecutive year the university was rated as one of the region鈥檚 best.

UM-Dearborn鈥檚 College of Business (COB) and College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) also were ranked on program-specific lists.

For the 18th consecutive year, the College of Engineering and Computer Science was rated among the nation鈥檚 top ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accredited undergraduate engineering programs among schools whose terminal degree is a bachelor鈥檚 or master鈥檚 with few, if any, doctoral programs. The program was the category鈥檚 highest-rated public undergraduate engineering program in the state.

The College of Business was ranked as one of Michigan鈥檚 top undergraduate business programs. This was the seventh consecutive year COB鈥檚 undergraduate program has appeared on the list.

The rankings, which were released online this week at , will appear in the magazine鈥檚 annual guidebook to 鈥淎merica鈥檚 Best Colleges.鈥 In the magazine鈥檚 ratings, UM-Dearborn is compared with other public universities that offer a full range of bachelor鈥檚 and master鈥檚 degree programs, but few or no doctoral degrees. Those institutions are rated by region because they tend to draw students from their surrounding areas, according to U.S. News. The magazine said it bases its overall rankings 鈥渙n quantitative measures that education experts have proposed as reliable indicators of academic quality.鈥 Their rankings of engineering programs are based on a peer survey of deans and senior faculty members at schools around the country.
