Economics Honors Scholar

The Economics Honors Scholar award is given annually to the economics major with the best economics GPA earned primarily at UM-Dearborn. For overall excellence in economics, Ahmad Makki was named the economics Honors Scholar

" It seems like students are often torn over whether to major in a "fun" major or a "practical" one. One of the few majors that features both qualities is clearly economics. Understanding the human reasons behind poverty as well as modeling poverty rigorously is a typical case of economics' fascinating yet pragmatic style. Not only did I relish the refreshing discussions on controversial economics debates: I also honed vital skills in rigorous reasoning, economic intuition, and analytical argumentation, all of which are required to perform well in my next semester of law school. I could not have delved into a more relevant, energizing discipline than economics."
