Discover how to hunt down your family history
If you are wondering about your ancestors and where they came from, or beginning a search for distant or forgotten relatives, the Mardigian library is hosting a workshop that can help you get started. Learn how to uncover your family鈥檚 history and search for those missing branches in your family tree by attending the Genealogy 101 Workshop on February 15, from 2:00 鈥 3:30 p.m. in Room 1212ML.
Joseph Marks, a founding member of the Polish Genealogical Society, takes some of the mystery out of how to find forgotten or missing relatives. His presentation provides an overview of genealogical research including some of the genealogical databases available and how to work with census, birth, death, and military records. There will also be a question and answer period after the presentation.
R.S.V.P. online at: http://library.umd.umich.edu/workshops/ . For more information on this workshop, call Sue, 313-593-5236.
