Being a Dearborn Wolverine is more than just hitting the books – it's about embracing a well-rounded college experience that extends far beyond the classroom walls. At UM-Dearborn, students have access to several off-campus perks to enhance their overall experience. There’s something for everyone all year round, from engaging campus events to impactful experiences just outside our grounds.

Tyler Guenette, director of the Office of Student Life, emphasizes the importance of students making the most of opportunities beyond the classroom. “There’s a wealth of resources available beyond the classroom for our students,” he explains. “I think it’s critical for students to experience the community outside of the classroom during their college years. It allows students to enjoy their time as Dearborn Wolverines, build lifelong connections and make those memories as a college student.” 

As we kick off a new academic year, here are five (plus) benefits that can help make Dearborn Wolverines' experience even more memorable.

The Henry Ford/Greenfield Village membership

With over 250 acres of attractions, offers a window into American history, innovations and people. By presenting a UM-Dearborn ID at the ticket window, students can obtain an annual membership to both the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation and Greenfield Village, free admission to traditional films at the Giant Screen Experience and discounts on the Ford Rouge Factory Tour, among other benefits.

Arab American National Museum

Located right in Dearborn’s east downtown, the is the first and only museum dedicated to telling the Arab American story. Students are eligible for an annual membership, which includes unlimited admission to the museum, discounts on public programs, workshops, events, and check-out privileges at the Russell J. Ebeid Library & Resource Center, which houses the largest collection of books by and about Arab Americans. To secure a membership, students simply need to show their UM-Dearborn ID at the ticket window.

Fair Lane Music Guild

Students receive free admission to concert performances by the at the Henry Ford Estate on campus by showing their UM-Dearborn ID at the concerts. Their 2023-24 concerts start in October with Sean Blackman's In Transit Trio. You can get more information about the

Environmental Interpretive Center + Matthei Botanical Gardens

UM-Dearborn students have access to miles of walking trails and a wide range of environmental programming at both the Environmental Interpretive Center, on the UM-Dearborn campus, and in Ann Arbor. Admission to both is free.

Sporting events

Students get a front-row seat at the Fieldhouse to watch the take on NAIA rivals and can also cheer on the in Ann Arbor. UM-Dearborn students are eligible to purchase student section tickets for certain sports, including football, men’s basketball and ice hockey in Ann Arbor.

In addition to all these offerings, UM-Dearborn students receive free digital access to the New York Times and Wall Street Journal through the , and can visit the Stamelos Art Gallery Center, located inside Mardigian, where the current exhibition features works by members of the Michigan Watercolor Society. Next up are the abstract sculptures of HIghland Park-based artist Doug Cannell.
